Maidens space is both a formal workshop space and a lounge catering specifically to the needs of young Maidens 11-18years. The workshop space will facilitate a full program throughout the weekend and host a lounge, where maidens’ can casually drop in, relax, meet and socialise with other girls their age.
THE MAIDEN’S LOUNGE
The maiden’s lounge is a relaxed, safe and welcoming space for maidens in which to create, learn, connect, move, share, laugh & digest the festival.
The Maiden’s Lounge honours the specific needs and wisdom of maidens and is excited by all they can offer! It’s a place to meet, connect and craft with other maidens.

ANDREA MARINA GARABELLI
Andrea Marina Garabelli is a multi-modal and creative arts therapist, artist and visual arts educator. She has facilitated a variety of arts-based workshops, community arts projects, providing individual and group arts therapy. She specialises in embodied practices and works with women and children.
BELLYDANCE FOR MAIDENS
A beautiful workshop for Maidens (and their mums) to share the enjoyment of Bellydance. Melanie will share an introductory workshop exploring some of the basic movements that make Bellydance such a feminine, accessible form of dance.
MELANIE EVANS AND PENNY MEEHAN
Melanie and her mum Penny have been learning and performing Bellydance around Melbourne for the last 12 years. Melanie is a secondary performing arts teacher and they both enjoy sharing their love of Bellydance with all ages, through many community events and workshops.
Independent, wild and full of lunar wisdom, Artemis was sister to all. Using her story inspiration, we’ll connect with our bodies as a source of focus and power and explore the meaning of sisterhood.
Life Cycles Educator and Dance Facilitator, Charlotte, offers workshops and programs to girls and women to foster body sovereignty and cycles awareness, from the menstrual cycle to the life cycle. She has trained with gifted teachers who’ve shared their knowledge of birth, death, dance and the cycles.
HOOP DANCE FLOW
Hoop Dance is a combination of on-and-off body hoop tricks and movement, allowing you to feel the energy of the hoop while connecting with the music and finding your own hoop flow. No hula hoop experience necessary.
KRISTA DOSWELL AND BEC VERHOEVEN
Krista and Bec have been hooping and teaching together for the past two years. They both attended the Australian Hoop Convention last year and Krista travelled to Malaysia for the 2017 Hoop Dream Retreat. They are now ready to come and share all they learnt and spread their love of hoops!
SHARING CIRCLE FOR YOUNG WOMEN
A sacred sharing circle for young women to share their wisdom and uniqueness. This is a safe space of collective wisdom, where each woman gets an opportunity to have a voice. When we share in circle we are deeply witnesses, heard and held.
KARLA RIDDELL AND JOHANNA SCOTT
Karla integrates Hawaiian, Perivian and Australian shamanic practices into her daily life. She draws on her experience as a paramedic and embodiment facilitator to create transformational rites of passage that support young people to reclaim their life.
