WHAT IS THE ADDITIONAL FEE STRUCTURE?
  • We needed to make things easier for our team and for you, so we decided to get some help from ticketbooth.

This means we do not have to have someone (wo)man the phone, update the spread sheet and send receipts on a daily basis. You also won’t need to worry about losing your ticket or investment. Ticketbooth does this for us, and therefore they charge a booking fee. We think that is fair enough! You can call them or email them directly below but firstly check here http://www.ticketbooth.com.au/contact/ to see if they have an instant answer to your query.

    Ticketbooth Support

    support@ticketbooth.com.au

We all also know that all online transactions involve a fee of some level, whether that is a credit card fee or a bank transaction fee. Paypal sometimes absorbs fees into the sale, in this case we have kept it transparent to avoid having to raise our ticket price and cause confusion between the two systems. All good though! GST is included in all our ticket prices.

WHAT ABOUT REFUNDS?
CAN I GIVE OR SELL MY TICKET TO SOMEONE ELSE? WHAT ABOUT TICKET NAME CHANGES?
  • Yes, you can give or sell your ticket and no, you do not need to change the name!

It is the barcode not the name that is important.

CAN I SHARE MY TICKET WITH MULTIPLE PEOPLE OVER THE WEEKEND?
  • Sharing is caring, we agree! But in this instance, a ticket is for one person only. There are one-day tickets available for the Sunday.

Camping & Accomodation Options

HOW DOES CAMPING WORK?

CAMPING AREAS

Onsite we have designated camping areas marked out by signs and bunting, these areas are slightly removed from the festival grounds and are further specialised into camping areas for mums and bubs, quiet camping and general.

There are no personally allocated plots, you simply find a spot that suits and set up tent. Please note that parked cars are separated from camp areas for safety reasons. Please come prepared to be able to transport your camping needs from your car to your camp spot.

No Caravans, trailers or Class A or C motorhomes permitted due to safety reasons. (The site is not amenable)

Vans, Campervans, Small class B motorhomes and pop up 4 wheel drives are allowed

Best to come early to have more choice.

Our Mums and Bubs camping area has a “Mums and Bubs Goddess Suite ” equipped with change tables/ bathtubs/ feeding chairs).

We also have a quiet zone, which is a little more removed from the festival site, to allow for peace, space and privacy and to camp with other campers who like a peaceful camp zone.

FACILITIES

There are many water taps onsite, all providing clean drinking water.

We have lavishly decorated bathrooms.

We have hot showers and flushing toilets.

PLEASE NOTE: There are no cooking or refrigerated storage facilities available. We have several food vendors serving a wonderful assortment of tasty food options, including vegetarian, gluten free and vegan.)

Ice is also available for purchase at the information tent to top up your esky.

FIRE

The festival site operates on a TOTAL FIRE BAN.

This includes:

  • NO Smudge sticks, incense, candles, fires, pyrotechnics, firecrackers, sparklers or flares
  • No gas stoves or BBQ’s (these will be checked at the gates & grounds and confiscated until after the event)
WHERE DO I CAMP AND DO I HAVE TO?

The vast majority of festival guests stay on site and escape the familiar for 3 days.

Basic camping with access to drinking water taps, flushing toilets and hot showers is included in your ticket price.

For those who desire an onsite cabin, luxury camping (glamping) or access to a powered site* there is an additional cost.
*Powered camp sites are only available for glaming, or those with medical conditions. Need a powered camp site? Please contact us info@sevensistersfestival.com

There are many guests who prefer to stay in local B&B’s, motels or hotels in the area and join just for the daytime festivities and park onsite in the day parking zone.

You can call the Mornington Peninsula Visitor Information Centre and Booking Service P +61 3 5987 3078 | Free call 1800 804 009 (outside area only) to help you find a place to stay.

Air BnB is another service to help you find lodgings. https://www.airbnb.com.au

There are also some guests who drive home as we are only an hour from Melbourne CBD.

The choices are endless and they are yours to make! Design your own Seven Sisters Experience.

WHAT ABOUT LUXURY CAMPING?

CAN I HIRE A CABIN ON SITE?

Yes, for those who are quick, you can purchase a bed in a shared cabin at the station or the lodge.

  • We only have 50 available so first in best dressed.
  • All onsite accommodation is to be booked via our online booking system and is $160+bf per bed for two nights, however an additional night (Thursday) can be pre-purchased at the same time. (NOTE: You MUST purchase a three night festival ticket to be able to arrive on Thursday as well as your Thursday night cabin accomodation.) This is only available for women who are staying in cabins for the duration of the festival.
  • There are no double beds or private rooms with en-suites. All beds are bunk beds.
  • There are power points in the cabins and close access to bathroom facilities.
  • The site is a scout camp and not a retreat centre so as a result the accommodation is very basic.
  • You must provide your own pillows and linen (fitted sheet and blankets).
  • Rooms are shared with other guests and there are no individual keys, hence rooms go unlocked. All individuals are responsible for their own property. Please carry personal items or lock in your car for safety.
  • Cabins range from 2 to 10 in a room. Again first in, first serve.

BOOK CABINS HERE – FOUR BEDS LEFT!

Cabin hire is however a very easy and a comfortable alternative to camping and at a very cheap price for the convenience of packing and setting up camp. Cabin guests are also very centrally located in the festival grounds.

For those who like more comfort, you may prefer to find lodgings or B&B’s outside the festival grounds. Your festival wristband allows you to enter and leave the festival within certain time periods and park in the day parking. Gates are open all day from 6am but close in the evenings at 11.30pm.

WHAT IS YOUR CABIN REFUND POLICY?

No refunds for cabin accommodation, however guests are however welcome to transfer their reservation to another guest or friend but is the responsibility of the individual to organise and alert involved parties.

CAN I BRING A CAMPER-VAN?

We regret that we have had to make the difficult decision that caravans are no longer permitted at the festival. Sadly the grounds are not caravan friendly and OCC hazard has left us no choice, as the safety of all women is paramount to us.

Vans, Class B campervans and Poptop 4wheel drives are permitted.

Car Levy, Car Pooling & Other Options

CAR LEVY

Due to the Seven Sisters site being at full capacity, and the environmental impact of the amount of cars coming to the festival, car numbers will be capped for 2020 (car levy per car $30 ) so that we can reduce the amount of guests travelling alone, as well as the environmental impact. So please plan to fill your car with friends (including new friends from our car pooling page ) snacks and awesome road trip playlists. Win, win!

Please note due to safety regulations- once you are parked for the weekend, you cannot exit and then reenter the site and there will be no car pass outs for camping guests.

NEED A LIFT? CAR POOLING!

There’s a beautiful online community, waiting to offer you a lift or share your offered ride! Check out the Seven Sisters Car Pooling Page for lifts to the festival. Due to the need to cap car numbers on site, we encourage car-pooling and public transport as much as possible.

About The Festival

HOW DOES THE FESTIVAL OPERATE?

The festival is all about options and what feels right for the individual. The event runs for 3 days and 3 nights from Thursday to Sunday afternoon and guests stay overnight in their preferred choice of camping, luxury camping (glamping), cabin or offsite accommodation.

There will be multiple workshops and activities running at any one time and you have the choice of attending information talks, workshops, dance or craft classes, listen to live music or performances, receive a massage, treatment, peruse the markets or explore the festival grounds.

There are no pre-bookings for workshops; you simply turn up on the day. There will be communal eating times where workshops do not run and guests are able to purchase hot meals from our selection of food stalls. In the evenings and at various times throughout the weekend there are large group activities and of course our main stage concerts and Chai Tent performances that feature an exceptional line-up of female performers. There are also group opening and closing ceremonies, which we encourage women to attend; to help set the mood and intention for the beginning and end of the gathering.

On Sunday our beautiful event will conclude with a closing ceremony at 4:45pm, allowing women enough time to pack up camp and travel safely home before the new week begins.

DO I NEED TO PAY OR BOOK FOR ANY ACTIVITIES?

Concerts, talks, workshops and materials are included in your ticket. You simply turn up on the hour on the day. Workshops run multiple times throughout the weekend, so if you miss out on one, there are opportunities to catch it at another time.

The only activities that require bookings are the reading and healing sessions at the healing haven. These sessions are all by donation ($15-$20).

Sustainability

How can i be a sustainable festival attendee?

What can you do to reduce your impact when attending Seven Sisters Festival?

Travel

PT or Carpool – Travel creates the biggest environmental impact from festival attendees – especially single car use! The best option is to catch public transport and take use of our shuttle buses, or car pool with friends or offer lifts on the Seven Sisters Festival Car Pooling Facebook page. P.S. If your car has three or more sisters you could win free tickets for everyone in your car for the next SSF. Please register at the info tent with your token to go into the draw.

Pack Responsibly

Watch your waste – When packing for Seven Sisters Festival, think about the waste that could be created from packaged snacks as well as the food waste from perishable foods – bring what you will actually use! Our go-to festival snacks are hardy fruit like apples, and nuts from bulk food stores without packaging. Healthy and delicious! We encourage you to leave no trace.

Bring your re-useable water bottle and keep cup! There will be NO plastic water bottles sold on site this year and we have plenty of taps for you to fill up your water bottle. And if you’re a coffee feign (who isn’t) your keep cup could save 6+ disposable coffee cups a day from landfill. Eco-warrior status achieved.

Mind Your Waste

  Use the right bins –
o Compost – Seven Sisters Festival is continuing to utilise composting as part of our waste management system, which means all of your food scraps, plus compostable food packaging used by all food vendors can go in the compost bins. Help us make a huge impact to the events waste by using the right bins.

o Recycle – all recyclable items such as paper, cardboard & hard plastics.

o Waste – Everything else – all other materials that cant be composted or recycled.

Leave you campsite clean – We’re blessed to have such a beautiful festival site surrounded by nature – let’s keep it that way. Please use the garbage bags provided on arrival (one for rubbish, one for recycling) and leave this beautiful space as you found it.

No Glass – Seven Sisters Festival does not allow glass on site. Please respect this policy as broken glass creates a dangerous hazard and impacts the environment. Any glass will be confiscate at the gate.

No Buts – Smokers please smoke in the designated smoking area (beside the lake) and place your buts in the sand buckets provided or in a personal ashtray. No buts on the ground!

Watch your Water Use

Turn off Taps – Make sure taps are turned off fully after use – no drips = a lot of saved water!

If its yellow let it mellow – Seven Sisters encourages you to take up our toilet policy, if its yellow let it mellow – if it needs to be flushed use the half flush option.

Shower responsibly – We encourage all guests to have short showers to save water and allow access to others.

Share your knowledge

Respect the journey – Everyone can be at different stages on an environmentally conscious journey – share your knowledge with others so we can all work together to create a more sustainable event and a more sustainable future.

Curiosities

CAN I BRING PETS?

No pets are allowed on site as Bay Park is a nature reserve and the landowners wish to lessen disturbance on the natural wildlife. Fair enough! **Guide and support dogs are welcome.

WHY AREN'T MEN ALLOWED?

Most of the content relates specifically to women and in order to create a space where women can explore that comfortably we felt that it was appropriate to create a women’s only event. Women’s only events are also a practice employed by almost every ancient culture and society and we wish to further develop that.

There are also existing male identified only conferences, retreats and festivals, such as Menergy, Manshine and Tribal man. This one is for the girls!

Please note however, that we may at times throughout the festival, be required to have male contractors on site, or the site warden, if there are issues relating to infrastructure or power.

WHY CAN'T I BRING MY KIDS?

As this has been a controversial issue in the past we put the question forward to past participants in our review survey. Over 75% of women requested to keep this a female adult only event so we will continue this. We do however allow babes in arms ( 0-18months) and girls from 12 years upwards. Please note we are strict on this policy. 12 year olds required to present their school ID’s. Our main focus however is to create a space where adult women can take 3 days of the entire year to just focus on themselves.

IS THE FESTIVAL BABY FRIENDLY?

Please note as this is a women’s festival and not a women’s and children’s festival we only allow babes up to 18months. For those who are bringing a young babe, we have done our best to provide for you by creating a Mum and Baby Social Sanctuary.

We will create a clean, comfortable area where mums can feed and change their babies in a clean well lit marquee with comfortable and practical seating, bean bags and floor mats, cushions, soft blankets and changing areas with soft mats and blankets and mosquito nets. We have complimentary antibacterial wipes, nappy barrier cream, water and cotton wool and nail brushes available. Additionally we maintain a sterile container to assist bottle feeding and nursing mums with keeping brushes, bottles and other items sterilised. This is all free of charge to support new mums to have more fun!

IS THE FESTIVAL OPEN TO ALL WOMEN?

Seven Sisters Festival welcomes all women, including: women of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD), women of transgender, intersex and diverse sexualities, women of diverse abilities, and women of diverse religious backgrounds and belief.

Our position is one of full participation in what is a large, public event. We recognise the diversity of our community and will be working within a framework of affirmative action and self-determination.

Conditions of the Seven Sisters site can vary due to unforeseeable weather. Conditions of the site can compromise access to women of diverse abilities. Please make contact with Seven Sisters Festival regarding accessibility if you have specific requirements and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

If you require support in any way please contact: info@sevensistersfestival.com

Community Resources

I WANT TO COME, BUT DON'T WANT TO GO ALONE!

We hear you! Don’t let the fear hold you back. Seven Sisters is a beautiful community and we know you’ll love meeting new friends – your vibe attracts your tribe right?

We’ve implemented the solo flyers mealtime meeting point which is situated on the oval underneath the Seven Sisters Flag. (Lunch time 12 – 2pm, Dinner 6 – 7.30pm.)
These areas are run by welcoming women who hold circles at meal times, so solo women can make friends and mingle with other solo women. So come meet others just as brave as you at Seven Sisters 2020.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A GOODWILL TICKETS?

Each year we give a number of goodwill tickets to support those women in financial hardship or as a thank you to women who have gone above and beyond to serve their community and require a weekend of love, support and encouragement.

To be eligible you must apply directly yourself and cannot apply on behalf of a friend or acquaintance. Please send an email of no more than 400 words to info@sevensistersfestival.com. Please ensure your application is sent by no later than 30th November and you will be alerted to whether your application has been successful by 31st January.
